PMO and project assurance

Making the project portfolio legible: one set of facts, updated monthly, matching the plan.

Scope

PMO Office Manager, Traffic & Roads Agency — several periods. PMP®-certified practice.

Workshop in progress
Approach

Make sure every project’s information is updated monthly in the tracking tools — and that those updates match the operational plans and the progress reports.

Review and continuously update project objectives so they stay in line with the strategic plan.

Report performance, risks and issues to the CEO in coordination with project managers and concerned departments.

Document lessons learned from completed projects and share them through the knowledge-management team so the next project starts smarter.

Outcome
  • A portfolio view the executive can trust because the tracking data, plans and reports reconcile.
  • A lessons-learned loop feeding future project planning.
