Case study2004 – 2007

Planning 30,000 precast panels for a waterfront district

The engineering foundation: production, delivery and erection planned as one flow.

Scope

Coordinator, Arabtec Construction, Dubai — precast planning and factory operations.

Engineering presentation
Approach

Plan production, delivery and erection of precast cladding panels for the Jumeirah Beach Residence sectors 1 and 3 — 13 towers, about 30,000 panels.

Report monthly on costs (labour, material, overhead) so management could take quick, informed decisions and avoid delay against stated completion dates.

Maintain contract control documents to the quality-control manual and support factory planning across precast, pre-stressed, GRC and GRP lines.

Also planned precast work on the DIFC Gate Village, Truck Tunnel and Sky Gardens projects.

Outcome
  • Detailed production-to-erection planning for roughly 30,000 panels across 13 towers.
  • A habit of cost-and-schedule reporting that later shaped KPI work in the public sector.
Constraint note

Commercial terms and contract values are not disclosed.
